We are RESULTS-ORIENTED:
City Arts has consistently improved its academic rigor over the past four years. We are ranked as a high Tier 2 school by the DC Public Charter School Board. We are committed to becoming a Tier 1 school over the next school. We closely look at all aspects of results such as student testing, student attendance, discipline, etc to ensure that our scholars are among the highest performing students in the District of Columbia. We are able to do this because of constant formal and informal collaboration amongst our teachers and school leaders.

We love teachers who are PURPOSE-DRIVEN:
Teachers at our school are driven by the belief that their main purpose is to change, save, and impact students’ lives. Purpose-Driven teachers have the opportunity to embed their personal purpose into various school responsibilities including curriculum design, family partnerships, culture building, and school planning.

We HONOR the time that we are given:
We believe that more time on task helps our scholars and teachers achieve great results. Our scholars attend school from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesdays we honor teacher development by offering professional development for staff from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to ensure City Arts teachers close the achievement gap.

We are unapologetically UNITED:
Regardless of the role, we all fully integrate into the school community and assume additional school-wide responsibilities to ensure a strong culture. We collaborate with one another to advance the school’s mission and communicate that mission to our constituents. Our team adheres to and enforces school-wide protocols and policies. And, if desired, staff is encouraged to assume extracurricular responsibilities, as well.
