Introducing Our New Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that Lanette Dailey-Reese has been selected as the next Executive Director of City Arts & Prep Public Charter School.  The board of directors of City Arts engaged the educational search firm Carney Sandoe & Associates to conduct a nation-wide search for our next school leader.

Many of you have met Lanette. She has served on the City Arts Board for the past two years in the roles of Academic Committee Chair and Board Secretary. She is well-versed in our school’s history, community, and plans for the future. Lanette will start her tour of duty with City Arts + Prep on May 15, 2017.

Lanette has a long career in education, with a focus on urban schools. She is leaving her position as a Senior Executive Director at the International Center for Leadership in Education where she has served for nearly five years to join City Arts. In that role she served as a strategic thought leader to over 75 school districts in their school turnaround efforts. Prior to that Lanette held positions with the School District of Philadelphia as an Assistant Director of School Reform, and with California University of Pennsylvania and Communities in Schools of Philadelphia.

Lanette has two master’s degrees; one from Drexel University and one from Temple University, and has her undergraduate degree from Notre Dame College of Ohio. Lanette and her family live just a few miles from City Arts.

We are also please to say that Andrew Kirkland, our Acting Executive Director, will be staying on this year to serve as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Advisor to Lanette. Andrew has done an amazing job leading this school year helping us grow and advance our academic programs. Lanette and Andrew have worked together for the last two years and are eager to continue their partnership as we prepare for our 15 year Charter Renewal.

Thank you to all the parents, faculty, and staff who provided feedback on the search to Carney Sandoe & Associates and the Board.

Sincerely,

Joyce Warner

City Arts Board Chair
